Dr. Jonathan Hindman joined Atlantic Dermatology in June 2010 after eight years of service in the United States Army. From 2008 to 2009, he was the sole consultant for Dermatology in the Iraqi Theater of Combat for all armed services, directing outpatient and inpatient services from Ibn Sina Hospital in Baghdad. Major Hindman earned the Bronze Star for meritorious service in a combat zone and the Iraqi Campaign Medal. After his service in Iraq, he returned to Bavaria, Germany, as Chief of Dermatology for the U.S. Army.
Dr. Hindman received his undergraduate degree from James Madison University and Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) from Kirksville College of Osteopathic
Medicine in Missouri. He interned and completed his Dermatology residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. and the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. He is board certified in dermatology, a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a member of the Association of Military Dermatologists.
Dr. Hindman was born in Florida and moved to Virginia in 1985. He and his wife have one daughter. He enjoys traveling with his family, fishing, boating, skiing and painting.
