Dr. Thomas Hayes is board certified in dermatology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He was raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and moved to Virginia Beach in June, 1989. He is married and has two children: a daughter who attended the University of Mary Washington and a son who is studying at Notre Dame. His interests include reading, traveling, and gardening.
Dr. Hayes received his degree from St. Mary's College, Emmitsburg, Maryland. In 1979, he earned his medical degree from Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Following an internship in Internal

Medicine at Andrews Air Force Base, Washington, DC, Dr. Hayes completed his residency in dermatology at Yale-New Haven Hospital, New Haven, Connecticut, in 1983. He served as a staff dermatologist at Wilford Hall Medical Center, Lackland A.F.B., San Antonio, Texas from 1983 to 1987. After two years in private practice in Orange Park, Florida, Dr. Hayes joined Atlantic Dermatology.
